With pride, Kohlhoff presents an update on sustainability initiatives: The new photovoltaic system is now operational! The system consists of 395 modules and has a maximum output of 159.98 kWp. This takes us another step towards energy-autonomous production.
In 2016, Kohlhoff took climate change seriously right from the planning stages of new building.
Geothermal Heating: 21 geothermal probes, each about 100 meters deep, provide the necessary energy to heat Kohlhoff office building and production hall (spanning over 4,500 m²) – thanks to efficient concrete core activation that works like underfloor heating.
100% Green Electricity: Currently, Kohlhoff use 100% green electricity from local supplier. However, with this new photovoltaic system, Kohlhoff will soon generate a significant portion of our electricity ourselves.
Daylight Utilization: With clever architecture featuring numerous windows and light strips, Kohlhoff save energy by optimizing the use of natural daylight.
Modern Fleet: 25% of Kohlhoff’s vehicles are fully electric or hybrid, and this proportion continues to grow.
In-House Nitrogen System: By producing nitrogen locally for our laser cutting system, Kohlhoff eliminate the environmentally harmful truck transport of cylinder bundles – another step towards reducing CO2 emissions.
