ADM, a global leader in innovative solutions from nature, has been awarded the “Best Responsible Corporate Brand” at the 8th CSR China Education Award 2024. Additionally, its ADM Cares program in China was honored with the “SDGs Outstanding Project.” This recognition marks ADM’s significant progress in the field of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in China.
As one of the most influential CSR awards of the year, the CSR China Education Award is organized by the CSR China Education Alliance. It aims to identify and promote enterprises that have made outstanding contributions to supporting education and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in China. This year, 228 well-known domestic and foreign companies participated, and after rigorous evaluation by the judges, 142 projects from 117 companies were shortlisted.
The ADM Cares program is ADM’s global corporate social investment program that drives social progress, economic development, and environmental protection through funding, volunteer services, and expertise. The program focuses on three core areas: food security, health, and sustainability, aligning all its activities with the United Nations SDGs. Since its launch in China, ADM Cares has provided knowledge and volunteer services to tens of thousands of students and collaborated with renowned universities to foster talent and future development in the industry.
Specifically, ADM has partnered with universities such as the Shanghai Institute of Technology to host events like the ADM Future Flavorist Competition and the ADM Innovation Future Competition, providing professional guidance to inspire students’ innovative thinking by integrating traditional culture with emerging technologies.
In addition, ADM has paid attention to the health education of stray animals and the creation of animal-friendly campuses. In 2024, ADM collaborated with the Asia Animal Foundation to launch the Animal-Friendly Campus initiative, covering 16 education institutes, including Beijing Film Academy and Southwest Jiaotong University. This initiative engaged nearly 10,000 students nationwide and promoted TNR (trap-neuter-return) activities. ADM also donated 2,100 kilograms of cat food to universities across the country to contribute to improving the health and safety of campus stray animals.
The ADM Cares project has also been included in the Responsibility 100 | The 8th CSR China Education Rankings Excellent Case Selection compiled by the CSR China Education Rankings Organizing Committee. Together with 38 outstanding projects from 36 other companies, it will be disseminated to government departments, enterprises, universities, professional institutions, and media, with an estimated reach of over 4 million young professionals and 40 million college students. This is expected to drive greater societal understanding and support for sustainable development and social responsibility.
Linbo Zhu, President of ADM China, said, “Winning the ‘Best Responsible Corporate Brand’ and ‘SDGs Outstanding Project’ fully affirms our efforts in sustainable development and social responsibility. At ADM, we recognize that each of action has the potential to drive positive impact across industry and society. In the future, we will advance our social responsibility practices in China by collaborating with more partners and deepen our commitment in sustainability, exploring multi-sector social welfare initiatives to support China’s sustainable growth and contribute to a greener, healthier future.”
